Review:NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream & Eyeshadow #Milan (EN)

Today's review is all abolut NYX's duo – soft matte lip cream & eyeshadow in the shade #Milan (№3 and №4 from NYX's advent calendar for Christmas 2016)

Of course I have to mention how cute the print on the advent windows is – shoes, gift boxes, domino and makeup ♥

As you know NYX's soft matte lip creams are in tubes that are colored in a shade that matches the color of the lipstick which is cool, but I don't think Milan's tube matches it's color. The tube is in dusty nude-pink shade and I was expecting a nude-ish lip color but I was surprised to see that Milan is actually fuchsia?!

Milan is a muted fuchsia shade (fuchsia is a combinatioln of hot pink and purple, mostly cool toned) and a bit more on the pink side. 

Pink it's definetely not my color, I don't think it suits my yellow toned skin and I'm always sceptical when it comes to pink makeup. Fuchsia is more flattering on me because is purple based and surprisingly this fuchsia shade looks good on me, although it's a bit lighter than I prefer. At first when applied on the lips Milan is more pink, but after it sets (~10 min) it becomes completely matte and a bit more on the purple side. I would say Milan's undertone is neutral and probably it would suit a lot of women. 

Pigmentation is buildable, on the lips swatch looks like it's a bit sheer but in person it looks fully opaque. It requires 2 layers for full opacity. I find a difference in the consistency of Milan compared to Monte Carlo – Milan has a lot drier consistency and it's a bit harder to apply, while Monte Carlo applies like melted butter on the lips and it's almost fully opaque on 1 layer. This is quite surprising because they're both bold colors and should be opaque. 

 

I didn't expect to like Milan but I like it, although pink it's not my cup of tea. I wear it sometimes and I even get compliments :)) I wear it in a combinatons with matte black eyeliner and it looks so dolly and youthful. Longevity it's around 3 to 4 hours and you definetely need to reapply it after having a meal.

The eyeshadow in the shade Milan is in cool toned brown shade which probably most of you would clasiffied as super boring but I'm super glad that I have it. Matte neutral shades always come in hand for me. 

This one has slightly grey undertone and that makes it perfect for using it as an eyeliner, as a crease shade or as an eyebrow powder. Right when I saw it I was sure I have something really similar – the shade Boxed from Sleek's palette Oh So Special (review: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2015/03/reviewsleek-i-divine-oh-so-special_18.html). 

Both shades are quite similar as you can tell from the swatch below, but Boxed is a tone lighter than Milan and Milan is more pigmented. Lately I've used Boxed to fill in my eyebrows and now I'm using Milan for over a month for this and for doing my eyemakeup and I have to say I'm impressed with the quality. Shimmery and pearly eyeshadows are easy to make and even the cheapest brands do them the right way but matte eyeshadows are on a whole another level. Most matte eyeshadows have dry consistency and even if they're soft they'll probably crumble and leave a ton of fall outs on your face. Milan has soft and almost buttery consistency, high pigmentations with just one swipe and it does crumble but it's minimal. Longevity is great – on my eyes and on my brows it stays until I remove it.

I definetely recommend you this eyeshadow (as far as I know it would be avaliable soon), it's really high quality and the matte lip cream it's nice if you're into fuchsia. I have to say that I won't buy the lipstick myself but I end up liking it on me. I plan on wearing it during the spring more often. Review:NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream & Eyeshadow #Milan |BG|

Ревюто днес ще бъде за матовия крем за устни § сенки за очи в цвят #Милано от NYX, съответно №3 и №4 от адвент календара им за Коледа 2016г.

Разбира се, трябва да кажа няколко думи за принта върху прозорчетата №3 и №4 – обувки, подаръчни кутии, домино и гримове, толкова тематично ♥

Както знаете, матовите кремове за устни на NYX се помещават във флакони с цвета на червилото, което е доста удобно, но точно за този нюанс не виждам това съответствие – флаконът е в пепел от рози и очаквах някой приглушен розово-телесен цвят, докато Милано съвсем не е такъв, а е цвят фуксия?!

Милано е по-приглушен нюанс фуксия (фуксия е комбинация от наситено розово и лилаво, но не е цикламено, защото фуксията е по-студен цвят, а цикламеното винаги е топъл, защото в него има и червено) с превес на розово. 

Розовото не е моят цвят и винаги съм скептично настроена към него, защото мисля, че изобщо не отива на жълтия ми подтон на кожата. Фуксията обаче е по-ласкава към моя тен, защото в нея има и лилаво, и изненадващо за мен точно този нейн нюанс, макар и по-светъл от предпочитаното, ми допадна как ми стои. Първоначално нанесен върху устните Милано е по-розов, но 10-тина минути след нанасяне, когато стане напълно матов, вече е с по-изразен лилав подтон. Подтонът му е неутрален и смятам, че Милано би отивал повечето жени. Пигментацията му е средна, на суотчът на устни стои сякаш леко прозира, но на живо не е така. Изисква 2 пласта, за да бъде интензитета пълен. Намирам разлика в консистенцията спрямо Монте Карло – Милано е с доста по-суха консистенция и една идея по-труден за нанасяне, докато Монте Карло се нанася като масло и е покривен на 1 пласт, което е изненадващо, защото и двата цвята са ярки и би следвало да са покривни.

Милано неочаквано за мен ми харесва как стои, макар на пръв поглед да го бях отписала, обаче си го нося и даже комплименти получавам :)) Нося го в комбинация само с матова черна очна линия, стои много кукленско и свежо. Трайността е около 3-4 часа, издържа на консумация на напитки, обаче след хранене иска задължително подновяване.

Сенките в нюанс Милано са в студен кафяв нюанс, който вероятно повечето от вас ще сметнете за скучен, обаче аз много му се зарадвах. Матовите сенки в неутралната гама винаги влизат в употреба. 

Точно този е в студен кафяв нюанс с лек сив подтон, идеален за нанасяне като очна линия, поставяне на цвят в сгъвката или за попълване на вежди. Веднага като го видях се сетих, че имам подобен цвят, който буквално съм издълбала от ползване – сянката Boxed от палитрата на Sleek Oh So Special (ревю: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2015/03/reviewsleek-i-divine-oh-so-special.html).

Двата цвята са идентични, както се вижда от суотча за сравнение, Boxed е един нюанс по-светъл от Милано, Милано пък е по-пигментиран. Напоследък ползвах Boxed за попълване на веждите си, а вече месец ползвам Милано за тази цел, както и за очен грим и съм впечатлена от качеството. Шимърни и перлени сенки и най-ниския клас марки успяват да направят пигментирани и маслени, лесни за работа, но с матовите сенки нещата стоят по-съвсем друг начин. Повечето са със суха консистенция, а ако меки и маслени, то вероятно се ронят при нанасяне. Точно тази сянка обаче е мека, почти маслена на допир, с висока пигментация, която не изисква наслояване върху кожата, за да бъде висок интензитета й, а и роненето при допир с четката е минимално (рони се, но в границите на приемливото). Трайността е отлична – и като сенки за вежди, и като сенки за очи нямат мърдане докато не ги сваля.

Сенките категорично препоръчвам (доколкото знам скоро ще са налични за покупкав сайта им), много качествени матови сенки, а матовият крем за устни също е добро попадение, ако си падате по фуксия. Признавам, че едва ли бих си го купила, но пък се харесах с него, много свеж цвят за пролетта е и стои много кукленско. Толкова за днес, следващия път продължаваме с номера 5 и 6 от адвента, дуото Прага.

NOTD:Gold & Glitter All The Way (EN)

I had the idea for this manicure for so long in my head and since my birthday was right around the corner I decided that it's finally time to put some extra efforts & time to do it. Winter time is the right time for extra gold, glitter and any sparkly manicure, right? This manicure it's definitely not for everyone, but I'm kind of obsessed with gold (maybe a bit too much) and a golden manicure it's on point :))

On my thumbs, index fingers and pinkies I applied 2 coats of Golden Rose Nail Art #129, which is the most realistic shade of yellow gold I've ever seen. Seriosly, when you put it next to real gold there is no difference in the shades. The bad thing is that the brush is actually nail striper, so you need a lot of patient and nerves to get 2 even coats. On my middle & ring fingers I applied 2 coats of Formula X by Sephora which is a really nice nude light beige with grey undertone. This is my first touch with this brand so I'll definitely write a post about it. Afterwards I added a third coat but this time I used Golden Rose Color Expert #71 (review here:http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2014/12/notdgolden-rose-color-expert-71.html), which is a kind of sheer and it has light shimmer in it. After the 3^rd coat dried, I put some of Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #103 on a makeup sponge and dab it to create gradient glitter effect.

I really, really, really like how this manicure turned out – really festive and eyecatching, definitely worth the efforts and the time ♥

От доста време ми се въртеше идеята за този маникюр и точно за рождения ми ден реших да отделя малко време и да го направя, защото именно зимата е времето за злато, глитър и всякакви бляскави маникюри. Определено златният маникюр не е за всеки вкус, но аз мнооооого си падам по златото, да не кажа прекалено много и златният маникюр за мен си е в реда на нещата :)

На палците, показалците и кутретата нанесох по 2 пласта от Golden Rose Nail Art #129, който е възможно най-реалистичния цвят на жълто злато, който може да съществува, буквално сравнен с истинско злато като нюанс няма разлика. За сметка на това е с тънка четка, защото е предназначен за декорации, затова и нанасянето изисква здрави нерви и търпение. На средните и безименните пръсти нанесох по 2 пласта от Formula X by Sephora , много хубав светлобежов цвят със сив подтон. Това ми е първи досег с марката и определено ще му посветя цялостно ревю и маникюр, в който да е основен цвят. След 2-та пласта добавих 3-ти, но този път Golden Rose Color Expert #71 (ревю:http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2014/12/notd-golden-rose-color-expert-71.html), който е полупрозрачен и има лек шимър, за да придам малко по-ефирен завършен на маникюра.След като и 3-тия пласт изсъхна добре с гъбичка за грим нанесох Golden Rose Jolly Jewels #103, за да постигна преливащ ефект.

MOTD:Birthday Look #3 |Blue-Brown Smokey Eyes| (EN)

Long time no see in the rubric "Makeup of the day" but traditions are made to be repeated and as you know I have birthday on 12th of January and I always post my birthday makeup on the blog (birthday look from 2016 here:http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2016/01/motdbirthday-look-2-deep-navy-blue_16.html and from 2015 here: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2015/01/motdbirthday-look_14.html).

Ever since I own the palette Comfort Zone by Wet'n'Wild I'm obsessed with the beautiful duochrome blue-brown shade with reddish brown base, named Definer (review & swatches here:http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2016/01/reviewwetnwild-coloricon-palette-738_28.html). Such a beautiful shade thats dupe for Mac Club and Urban Decay Solstice. I've worn it a couple of times but I never showed it on the blog so I decided to be the star of the show on my birthday look.

I started the look by applying soft black eyeliner on my outer & inner corner of the eye, on my waterline and on my lower lash line (IT Cosmetics/Black) and I smudged it with pencil brush. I used black eyepencil as a base to make the duochrome shade pop and to make it stick better. Using flat shader brush I applied the blue-brown shade all over my upper and bottom lid and I pat really well with wet brush on the center of the lid where I didn't put black eyeliner - this way the shade applied there was a bit lighter and it resembles the effect of the technique "spotlight". Afterwards I applied matte black eyeshadow (Noir/Sleek) on the outer corner of the eye to make the look smokey and I blended the crease with my favourite transition shade - matte taupe (Wrapped Up/Sleek). Under my browbone and a bit on my inner corner I placed some matte vanilla eyeshadow (Bow/Sleek). I finished the look with 2 coats of mascara.

This was the makeup I wore on my birthday, hopefully next year I'll have another birthday look to show you.

Long time no see в рубриката „Грим на деня“, но традициите са традиции, за да се спазват, а знаете, че имам рожден ден в началото на януари и всяка година поствам грима си от моя специален ден (от 2016 тук:http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2016/01/motdbirthday-look-2-deep-navy-blue.html и от 2015 тук:http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2015/01/motdbirthday-look.html).

Откакто имам палитрата Comfort Zone на Wet'n'Wild (ревю: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2016/01/reviewwetnwild-coloricon-palette-738.html)съм привлечена от неустоимия дуохромен цвят в долния десен ъгъл, наименуван звучно Definer – прекрасен синьо-зелен цвят с червено-кафява база, двойник на Mac Club и Urban Decay Solstice. Няколко пъти съм носила този красив нюанс, но досега не съм го показвала в блога и реших, че му е дошъл реда и ще бъде главно действащо лице в един много красив опушен грим.

Започнах с нанасянето на мек черен молив (It Cosmetics/Black) във водната линия, вътрешния и въшния ъгъл на окото, както и по цялата линия на миглите на долния клепач, който бързо след нанасянето опуших с пенсил четка. Използвах черния молив като база, за да изпъкне красотата на дуохромния нюанс и за да залепне по-добре за кожата. С плоска четка за сенки нанесох синьо-зелено-червения дуохромен цвят (Definer/Wet'n'Wild) върху целия подвижен и долен клепач, като напластих особено с вече навлажнена четка в центъра на клепача, за да увелича интензитета и за да бъде площта там малко по-светла (тъй като само в средата на клепача не положих черен молив за база), за да наподобя техниката „spotlight“. След това отново с пенсил четка сложих матови черни сенки (Noir/Sleek) във външния ъгъл на окото, за да опуша, а в сгъвката прелях с най-използвания ми цвят за преливане, а именно матово сиво-кафяво (Wrapped Up/Sleek). Под веждата и съвсем леко около костта във вътрешния ъгъл просветлих с матови сенки в цвят ванилия (Bow/Sleek). Завърших с 2 пласта спирала.

Това беше гримът за моя 23-ти рожден ден, по традиция догодина, живот и здраве, отново ще има такъв пост.

Review:NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream & Eyeshadow #Monte Carlo (EN)

A few days before Christmas Eve I received as christmas gift NYX's advent calendar for 2016 – Wanderlust. It's basically a paper box that looks like a makeup case and on the inside there are 24 little “windows” that contain 12 mini matte lip creams and 12 single eyeshadows. The lip creams are literally NYX's bestseller! The whole line matte creams its named after wolrdwide popular cities – 35 shades. In this advent calendar NYX are launching for the very first time eyeshadows that have the same name as the matte lip creams but the colors didn't match as I expected. By now the eyeshadows arent avaliable for buy beside the advent calendar, but I read that they will be on the market soon. 

 

Each window has printed places or things that are significant for the city the lip cream & the eyeshadow are named after. On the packaging of the eyeshadow there is also stylized illustrations of the symbols the city.

When I received the advent caledar there were exactly 24 days until my birthday so I'm counting the days until 12.01 (of course there'll be birthday look & birthday manicure posts on the blog – it's tradition :)).

And yes, I know that you're supposed to open the windows from 24^th to 1st, but I always start opening them backwards (1^st to 24^th ) - someone has to do it this way, right? :D

Let's move on to the review for the matte lip cream & eyeshadow called Monte Carlo (№1 and №2 from the advent windows). I have to pay attention to the illustrations – game cards & dice (of course!), grand prix flags, palm tree, watch, shopper bags, very cool huh?! I just love when brand pay attentiont to the details.

Matte lip cream in Monte Carlos is bright red shade with coral undertone. I would call this shade universal – not too warm, not too cool, just the perfect amount of both. 

Applied on the lips is also bright and it doesn't loose it's intesity. Opacity on 1 layer is middle, on 2 is full. It feels mild and comfort on the lips, it's not drying and it doesnt accent dry patches.

At first the lip cream isn't matte (it's more on the satin side) but after 10 minutes it's completely matte and looks just like the matte liquid lipsticks we are all into, but more comfier to wear. And it's not transfering at all! It need reapplications after a few hours, especially if you eat & drink, but I have to say it has good longevity – around 6 hours. It contains 4,7ml of product which is nearly 2/3 of the standart size Lip Creams. Here is compared to my matte liquid lipstick by Aura which is 7ml (review is on my list, it's amazing!!) 

Applicator is comfy to work and you can easily form the contour without need of lip pencil.  

It has vanilla biscuits scent (why every single makeup product has to be vanilla scented?! I really have to write to the PR otdel of those brands to say that not everyone likes this meh vanilla scent!!) but luckily you can't feel it after application.

The single eyeshadow as I said, are not in the shade that matches the listick – in this case Monte Carlo is in beautiful graphit/charcoal shade, that is almost black and has bilion of visible silver shimmers wich sparkle at every move. 

I love smokey eyes and I totally see this shade all over the mobile lid. Opacity is high – great pigmentation, soft consistency that crumbles a bit because of the fine glitters. 

This eyeshadow is 1,8gr which is normal size for this type of product (it's not mini size as the lipstick). Packaging is paper, magnit, and kind of stabil and has the same illustrations as the window at the advent. I'm a bit worried about the way I have to keep this paper packagings although I act carefully when it comes to makeup. Longevity is high but pereferable apply this eyeshadow over a base so the glitters can stuck better to the skin.

I'm really pleased with this advent calendar – it's so cool to open a little surprise gift for you every morning and especially if you're beauty blogger and the surpprise gift is makeup, happines is double :)). The idea, packaging, quality and the attention that is paid to the detail is great and I send my admirations to NYX for their advent calendar for 2016 -it's so on point!
