Hello everyone
♥
Lanvin
Jeanne
Scandal is Lanvin’s last perfume, launched in April 2016.
There are barely any reviews
about it – even in www.fragrantica.com you can find only 4 short reviews. Such a shame for
this beautiful fragrance, which on my opinion is the best of all Jeanne
fragrances, plus, is a limited edition and deserves a test while it’s still
available on the market.
Lanvin’s Jeanne
collection contains 7
perfumes, 4 of them are limited editions– Jeanne La Rose, Jeanne La Plume, Jeanne Limited Edition
and
Jeanne
Lanvin
Scandal, regular are Jeanne, Jeanne Couture
and
Jeanne
Couture
Birdie. The original Jeanne
is
quite
sharp
and
way
too
floral
for
my
taste,
although
its
pyramid
shows
it
as
fruity
fragrance. I miss a fruit note or the woody note here so I don’t
like it –as I said is way too sharp and too ordinary, nothing special at all.
Jeanne
Couture I used to like a lot and I was thinking of buying it since I was searching for a new fragrance for the spring and summer. I purchased a sample of it so I can test it a few times and I realized that is too sharp for my taste whenever I wear it at hot and humid weather. In the base reminds me a lot of Muse
and I really don’t like
quite floral perfumes this much to own 2. Muse
is more than enough for me and I decided not to buy Jeanne
Couture. Jeanne Couture is nice floral fragrance with noticeable
notes
of
violet
leaves,
water
notes
and
peony
– it
smells
quite
green
and
floraly
and
is
a
bit
too
sharp
for
my
taste
than
I
would
love
to,
but
I
have
to
admit
it’s quite nice perfume for the spring. On my opinion is quite identical to Lancome Tresor
Midnight Rose without being identical to it. My advice is to always test perfumes as
much as you can before any buy – test in the mornings and in the evening, in
hot and cold weather, humid and dry weather and even in different moods.
Although I have tested Jeanne Couture 4-5 times and I definitely wanted to buy it during my last
test I noticed the sharpness that has in hot weather
and that I didn’t like – I
actually like it on my skin only when it’s cool spring outside. Jeanne Couture
Birdie
is quite similar
on my opinion to Jeanne Couture, there’s barely any difference between them.
The whole
Jeanne
collection is
floral-fruity, typical for Lanvin and I think the legendary Eclat d’Arpege would suit Jeanne’s
fragrances perfect. Jeanne’s
fragrances are suitable for daytime, summer and spring and their bottles are
pieces of jewelries – so beautiful and fine and I want them all on my vanity:))).
History:
In 1933,
avant-garde designer Jeanne Lanvin created the Scandal fragrance which was to
revolutionise the world of perfumery. In a tribute to this iconic fragrance and
its audacious creator, Lanvin is launching Jeanne
Lanvin Scandal, a thrilling and immediately desirable fruity-floral whose
capricious, sensual notes settle like a veil of freedom over the skin.
Jeanne Lanvin
Scandal is a fragrance that embodies an independent, rebellious and
trendsetting woman. Her greatest strength? A taste for freedom – the freedom to
experiment, the freedom to live and think differently.
The
Fruity-Floral Jeanne Lanvin
Scandal is an ode to the
musky syllables of the original fragrance, with an outrageously fruity twist.
Composed by Anne Flipo, this irresistible nectar reveals sweet, tender notes of apricot
and pear, underpinned by the exquisite, refreshing juiciness of orange. Infused
with poetry and originality, its floral heart blossoms in a joyous, delicate
bouquet of Freesia, crystallised rose petals and peony. Paired with the cottony
softness of musk, the beautifully voluptuous sandalwood forms an undeniably
unctuous signature that lends the fragrance a sense of renewed radiance.
The fragrance
is enclosed within the architecture of an original bottle. On its front is the
elegant grosgrain label that has become synonymous with Jeanne Lanvin
fragrance. The iconic seal depicting Jeanne Lanvin and her daughter appears in
tone-on-tone engraving on the top of the silver stopper. It is available as 50
ml Eau de Parfum.
Description:
Top notes:
pear,
apricot and orange
Middle notes:
freesia,
rose and peony
Base notes:
musk and
sandalwood
Development on my skin:
At
first
when
sprayed
the
scent
is
quite
fruity
and
all I get is juicy sweet
orange, but don’t imagine only the juicy – there is also the scent of the
orange peel and the pulp. After 15-20 minutes orange is almost gone and appear
juicy pear and velvet apricot – imagine the natural and organic smell of fresh
and fragrant pears and apricots. Such an authentic smell! Pear appears as
dominant note here, like freshly cut, so sweet and juicy. Apricot’s scent is
quite fine and delicate, but both pear and apricot have velvety feel in their
scents and their velvetiness pair extremely well together. In the middle notes I
got a lot of fresh, soft and creamy peony, combined with the soft scent of
young white rose petals. I barely detect freesia here – on my skin freesia is
never a dominant note. In
the
base
there’s just sandalwood, which adds some depth and fine warmness to the composition, but it doesn’t make the fragrance heavy in any case. Musk doesn’t appear on my skin and that’s
super for me, since lately I can’t stand musk in the perfumes I wear. Jeanne
Scandal on me is amazingly tender fruity-floral fragrance, with detectable
notes of pear and apricot, combined with peony and slightly noticeable
sandalwood suspicion. This way the fragrance stays till the end – pear,
apricot, peony and some sandalwood, orange appears just at the beginning, rose
and freesia are barely noticeable and musk is missing at all.
Although
the
main
notes
are
pear
and
apricot
the
fragrance
isn’t plain fruity in a childish or boring way – I can’t stand this mono fruity type of fragrances like Yves Rocher’s mono fruity scents for example. The juicy and sweet pear and apricot give sweetness to the floral-woody scent
but
they
don’t make it undefined sweet. Combined with the peony and sandalwood the make
beautiful tender fragrance, that has some depth thanks to the sandalwood,
floral feels thanks to the peony which makes the scent lighter and feminine. I
truly love woody notes in my perfumes and almost all of my fragrances have wood
in them. Peony is also one of my favourite flowers and in this perfume appears
as freshly cut after a spring rain. I was surprised that I like the pear &
apricot combination so much since I always suck for berries when it comes to
fragrances, but here pear and apricot are in the right amount to give
sophisticated sweetness. Jeanne Scandal is easy to like, it’s not heavy, sickly
sweet or artificial. It deserves to give it a chance and on my opinion is the
best of all Jeanne’s fragrances as I said – it’s the sweetest of all, but it’s
not so sharpy floral, it really really tender and mild, but it’s noticeable as
well. Scandal is a misleading name on my opinion – there’s nothing scandal
about this perfume and if you’re expecting something extravagant you’re wrong.
Jeanne Scandal to me is in one category and gives me similar feeling
as these fruity-floral fragrances like Versace
Bright
Crystal,
Christian
Dior
Miss
Dior
Absolutely
Blooming
and some other
Lanvin’s fragrances like
Eclat
d’Arpege, Rumeur, Rumeur 2Rose, but for me Jeanne Scandal is the best of the all.
Packaging:
So
beautiful!
Lanvin
definitely
knew
how
to
make
amazing
fragrances
as
well
as
beautiful
packaging. As
I
mentioned
on
my
opinion
all
of
Lanvin
Jeanne’s fragrances are beautiful and this one makes no exception – classic rectangular shape, made out of glass, which gradually turns from
fuchsia to pastel pink. Unusual but really pretty detail is the fabric piece in
the front, which has Lanvin Jeanne embroidered, and the word Scandal is written
on the glass. The pomp and the topper are made in silver and on the topper is
the logo of Lanvin. The paper box that comes with the fragrance is beautiful as
well – white with fuchsia clouds in different shades of pink and the same
fabric detail.
Storage:
Jeanne Scandal
is limited edition and is available in only one size–
50ml.
Season appropriation:
Spring and
summer.
When
I
first
tested
Jeanne
Scandal
it
was
the
beginning
of
May
–
20o
,
humid
and
sunny
and
the
fragrance
has
amazing
trail
and
I
felt
it
everywhere
around
me with hours. In
humid
and
cool
weather
(at
least
15 o)
is
lovely,
as
well
as
in
heat
– I
wore
it
at
40
o
in dry and really hot weather and it didn’t have a trail, it stays more skin close but it was beautiful.
I was looking for new perfume to wear during the summer and spring and I think
I found the perfect one.
Time appropriation:
Jeanne
Scandal
for
me
is
suitable
for
the
daytime
during
the
spring
and
summer
and
in
the
most
humid
nights
it
could
be
pretty
as
nighttime
perfume
as
well.
For me this perfumes is
quite tender but noticeable at the same time. If you’re more into delicate and
more close to skin perfumes like Bvlgari
Omnia
Crystalline
and Chanel
Chance
Eau
Tendre
you might enjoy wearing
Jeanne Scandal as nigh time fragrance.
Longevity:
High.
I own 2 more of Lanvin’s
perfumes and they also have high longevity on me as well. I feel it the whole day till I take a shower
at night without need to reapply. Even in hot and dry weather I get more than 8
hours of longevity.
Jeanne
Scandal
is
beautiful
fruity-floral fragrance with noticeable notes of juicy pear and velvet apricot, soft peony and warm sandalwood. It’s suitable for spring and summer, tender but detectable scent, easy to wear. Sweet in a very sophisticated way. It has high
longevity and the bottle is so beautiful! For me this perfume is so underrated
but for me it’s the best of all Jeanne collection. I would love to stay at the
permanent line of Lanvin and I would repurchase it – it’s so nice to wear it
and for me is the perfect tender and delicate, but noticeable perfume.
As
I
said
I
own
2 more
of
Lanvin’s perfumes and I wrote about them here: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2015/05/scented-reviewlanvin-eclat-darpege-en.htmlи
тук: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.bg/2016/03/scented-reviewlanvin-me-gift-set-en.html and I can definitely say that Lanvin’s perfumes are
great quality. I’m familiar with most of their available in Bulgaria fragrances
and beside the collection Jeanne, Rumeur, Rumeur 2Rose and Marry me deserve to
give them a chance too – beautiful and feminine in a unique kind of way.
Have you tried Lanvin’s
limited edition for 2016 Jeanne Scandal and what are your thoughts?
