One Brand: The Body Shop Products (EN)

The Body Shop is new brand for me - in January I received as birthday gift card for their shop from my dear colleagues and I immediately bought few things, so I decided to share my first impressions on them in this kind of one brand posts. I have similar post on the brand IKAROV here

The Body Shop is launched in 1976 in Brighton, England with a belief in something revolutionary: that business could be a force for good.  

I've been testing these products for 6 months already and I'm ready to share my thoughts on them with you. I admit it was complicated for me to choose what to buy - the assortment is huge! I know that The Body Shop body series are their most popular products, but I'm really into skincare recently so I picked up mostly skincare products. Here's what I got:

Shower cream with avocado 

Smells really authentic like avocado, it has buttery, soft consistency and non-drying formula, which is super gentle on the skin. It's a good one for dry skin and I already talked about it here I would like to try some of their body care products in the future as well. 

Liquid peeling with Vitamin С

Vitamin C is my favorite skincare ingredient and I'm always looking for products that contain it. I was really interested into the Body Shop Vitamin C product range so I picked the liquid peel - I read so many positive reviews on it that I just had to try it! Such an unique product, I haven't tried anything similar to it. It has gel-like texture, but once you apply it on the skin and start massaging for 10-20 seconds it starts to remove your dead skin immediately. Afterwards the skin feels super clean, literally porcelain smooth and polished. 

It's placed in comfy packaging with pump and has light, citrusy smell and works immediately once applied. I think it's suitable for women with oily and combination skin. I'm super impressed with this product and I'll definitely repurchase it. From this range with Vitamin C I plan to buy the sun protectiong lotion with SPF30 (I like TBS's sun protection) and the Vitamin C serum. 

Sun protection is super important and we should use it on daily basis whole year round so I choose 2 products to try out - one with SPF30 and one with SPF50. I first started using this in the witner: 

Emulsion with Vitamin E and SPF30

This product contain 50 ml of product, it's placed in comfy packaging with pump and has SPF30. Formula is super liquid, typical for the emulsion type of product and easy to blend into the skin, plus it absorbs quickly. This is super important to me because I have really oily skin and I hate the feeling of heavy or sticky skincare products.  

It does not color my face white, does not clog my pores and doesn't stain my clothes. One pump is enough to apply into my face, ears and neck and the product itself is super economical: I've use it in the winter & spring and I still haven't used it up. It works great underneath makeup and I'll repurchase it again. 

As from the spring started I started using this on daily basis: 

Sun protecting cream Skin Defence Light with SPF50

This cream also has light formula and feels hydrating, it has wide spectrum of UVA/UVB filters that protect the skin. It's thicker that the emulsion but it's also easy to apply and blend, absorbs quickly into the skin and does not leave any white cast. Also it works great under makeup. I feel my skin protected and safe with TBS sun protection - until now I don't have any new hyperpigmentation spots, neither sun burns. 

Night mask with Vitamin 

One of my girlfriends is a huge fan of this Vitamine E line so under her influence I wanted to try few things - that's why I got the SPF emulsion and this night mask. I haven't tried night masks before but basically the idea is to leave it work overnight and in the morning to continue directly with your skincare.  I have really oily skin and I'm always going for light & fast absorbing formulas to use on daily basis, but in the night time I try to compensate with richer and thicker formulas.

 This mask has really nice, somehow fluffy mousse like texture which is easy to apply, does not feel greasy or too heavy and it's not sticky. In the mornings the skin feels plumped, like you just took off your hydrating sheet mask. I this is suitable for any skin type and I use in 2-3 times per week. I plan on giving the hydrating toner and hydrating cream from this line a try. 

Lip butter Love & Plums

I really wanted to try some of the famous Body Shop lip butter so I choose this limited edition scent. I'm really into plum scented products but somehow they are not easy to be found on the market, I don't know why. 

This butter has thick, rich formula and makes my lips soft, hydrated and nourished. I love the scent so much, it's so authentical tarty and sweet! I would give the lip butters with shea and mango a try someday. 

These were my thoughts on The Body Shop products I own. This brand aroused my interest and I'll buy the body butters to try and the perfumes and EDT - they are mostly mono scents that are perfect to layer with your favorite perfumes or to wear on their own.

The Body Shop е нова за мен марка, с която се запознах през януари – скъпите ми колежки ми подариха ваучер за рождения ден, който аз веднага оползотворих в деня на януарските намаления и си взех няколко техни продукта, като реших да обобщя впечатленията си от бранда в събирателен пост. Подобн пост, посветен на друга марка, а именно IKAROV, можете да прочетете тук

The Body Shop e създадена през 1976 г. в Брайтън, Англия и се отличава със своя подход –етично добити натурални съставки от цял свят, в семпли опаковки, които могат да се използват повторно. Продуктите на The Body Shop не се тестват върху животни и никой не е експлоатиран при направата им, фокусът е върху справедливото сътрудничество с фермери и доставчици и съдействие на местните общности в районите, откъдето се добиват съставки с цел развиване чрез програмата Community Fair Trade.

Вече 6 месеца тествам продуктите, които си взех през януари и мога да споделя пълни впечатления за тях. Признавам, че ми отне време да подбера какво да си взема с ваучера – в сайта има толкова голям избор! Знам, че сериите за тяло са може би най-популярните от асортимента на The Body Shop, отличават се с изкусителни аромати и иновативни текстури (като йогурт за тяло, например), но аз съм на вълна грижа за кожата и се спрях именно на такива продукти, с едно изключение. Моя приятелка е голям фен на бялата козметика на бранда и с нейна помощ и насоки подбрах следните продукти:

Крем душ-гел с авокадо

Душ гелът всъщност ми е подарък – отидох на място в магазина, за да разгледам асортимента и когато консултантката ми предложи да се регистрирам видя, че предния ден е бил рожденият ми ден и ми даде като подарък душ гелът с авокадо. Приятна изненада, определено ме спечелиха с отношение😍 Душ гелът наистина ухае на авокадо (странно, но факт – има нежен и много реалистичен авокадов аромат), маслена, богата консистенция, неизсушаваща формула, която е безкрайно нежна към кожата. Много е подходящ за суха кожа и  определено се отличава от масовите душ гелове. Похвалих го в поста с пролетните любимци тук Бих пробвала още някой техен продукт за тяло вбъдеще. Течен пилинг за лице с Витамин С

Видя ли Витамин С в някой продукт, то моментално интересът ми към него е събуден – няма друга съставка, която толкова бързо да действа ползотворно на кожата ми: включа ли продукт с Витамин С в рутината си, незабавно кожата ми светва, става с изравнен тен, здравословен блясък и много свежа и чиста. С любопитство разгледах продуктите от серията с Витамин С на The Body Shop и се спрях на течният пилинг за лице – за него прочетох най-много и най-възторжени отзиви колко уникален продукт е. Така е! Не съм пробвала нищо подобно на него: изглежда като гел, но при нанасяне върху кожата и масажиране за 10-20 секунди започва да сваля мъртвите клетки буквално – мънички купчинки от мъртва кожа се оформят между пръстите ви и ефектът е идеално чиста, порцеланово гладка кожа, направо като полирана. Първият път, в който го ползвах, останах изумена колко много мъртви клетки успя да свали, защото аз редовно ексфолирам кожата си механично и химически, правя си дълбокопочистващи маски и наистина не очаквах, че има толкова много мъртва кожа за отстраняване. С интерес повторих след 2-3 дни и отново имаше мъртви клетки, но много по-малко, отколкото първият път. Ако не сте гнусливи, можете да видите как действа пилингът тук

Самият пилинг идва в удобна опаковка с помпа, има лек цитрусов аромат и се нанася лесно, а действа моментално. Според мен е подходящ за дами с мазна и смесена кожа, лично аз го ползвам веднъж седмично, а през лятото и 2 пъти. Много съм впечатлена и определено е продукт, който смятам да поддържам в наличност. От тази серия съм си набелязала за закупуване слънцезащитния лосион с SPF30 и Витамин С – линк тук (ползвам други 2 слънцезащитни продукта на марката, за които ще прочетете по-долу и съм много доволна от тях) и серумът с Витамин С (линк тук).

Слънцезащитата е много важна и трябва да я нанасяме целогодишно, затова и аз си избрах цели 2 слънцезащитни продукта от марката, които да пробвам – един с 30-ти фактор и един с 50-ти, за да мога да ги сравня и да ви дам обективно мнение. Първо започнах да ползвам:

Емулсия за лице с Витамин Е с SPF30

Емулсията е от серията с Витамин е, съдържа 50 ml продукт, поместен е в удобна опаковка с помпичка и е със слънцезащитен фактор 30. Формулата е много течна, лека и лесна за разнасяне – точно каквито са емулсиите по принцип. Абсорбира се изключително бързо, не лепне и не оставя филм върху кожата, което е много важно за мен, защото моята кожа е ужасно мазна и предпочитам да нанасям леки продукти като дневна грижа. Не образува бял филм върху лицето ми, не ми запушва порите и не цапа дрехи. 

Една помпичка ми стига, за да нанеса върху цялото лице, ушите и шията, което прави продукта много икономичен: ползвах го цяла пролет, а и сега също през по-мрачните дни, когато слънцето не е толкова силно и съм го изразходила някъде наполовина. Сработва чудесно с грим, а и със серума ми с Витамин С и определено е продукт, който бих закупила отново, след като приключа. Линк към продукта тук

А с покачването на температурите и настъпването на лятото започнах ежедневно да нося

Слънцезащитен крем за лице Skin Defence Light с SPF50

Кремът е с ултралека формула и хидратиращ ефект, с широк спектър от UVA/UVB филтри, които защитават кожата от слънчевите лъчи и от ежедневното замърсяване от околната среда. По-плътен е от емулсията, за която вече ви разказах, но се нанася лесно, попива бързо и не се усеща тежко и плътно върху кожата, напротив – усещането е като за нанасяне на хидратиращ крем за лице, не слънцезащита. Не оцветява лицето ми бяло, не ми запушва порите и не цапа дрехи. Сработва чудесно с грим, а и с допълнителна грижа за кожата, нося го спокойно над серума си с Витамин С, както и над обикновен хидратиращ крем. Съдържа 50 ml продукт, който смятам, че ще ми стигне до края на лятото. До момента не съм изгаряла нито с емулсията, нито с този крем, а съм ги носила немалко пъти изложена на силно слънце и на открито – смятам, че мога да им се доверя да предпазят кожата ми от изгаряне и поява на пигментни петна. 

Нощна маска за лице с Витамин Е

Моя приятелка е голяма фенка на продуктите от тази серия и под нейно влияние исках да пробвам някой от тях, та освен на слънцезащитния лосион, за който писах по-горе, се спрях и на нощната маска – досега не бях пробвала подобен продукт. Идеята е да остане да действа на лицето през нощта, без отмиване, а на сутринта да започнете директно с дневната си рутина за грижа за кожата.  Аз имам много мазна кожа и винаги съм с лек, често матиращ крем или слънцезащита през деня, но вечер гледам да наваксам и да нанасям по-богати и хидратиращи формули. 

Маската има много приятна, някак пухкава, подобна на мус формула, която се нанася лесно, попива бързо и не се усеща тежко, лепнещо или мазно върху лицето. На сутринта кожата е отпочинала, свежа и някак „напомпана“, сякаш току-що сте свалили от лицето си маска с ударна доза хидратация. Според мен е подходяща за всеки тип кожа, ползвам я с удоволствие 2-3 пъти седмично и определено бих си я закупила отново. От тази серия си набелязах за следваща покупка дневният хидратиращ крем (линк) и хидратиращият тоник (линк).

Масло за устни с аромат на сливи Love & Plums

Бях сигурна, че искам да пробвам от прословутите масла за устни на The Body Shop, като изборът ми се спря на лимитиран аромат, а именно аромат на сливи ❤ Аз много обичам сини сливи, но за съжаление рядко се намират продукти с такъв аромат сред необятния козметичен пазар, незнайно защо.

 Маслото има плътна, богата текстура, която обгрижва устните в дълбочина, подхранва ги и ги хидратира. Ароматът е нетипичен, автентично тръпчив и сладък, балсамът определено е попадение! Бих пробвала и маслата за устни с шеа и манго, които са от регулярния асортимент.

Това бяха моите впечатления за продуктите на The Body Shop, които притежавам. Марката събуди интереса ми и занапред бих купувала техни неща, като например маслата за тяло, за които чета само и единствено суперлативи и са може би най-разпознаваемият техен продукт. Като ценител на ароматите не мога да пропусна да спомена и тоалетните води и ароматни спрейове за тяло с моноаромати и не само, които можете да ползвате за layering с вашите налични аромати, за подчертаване на определени нотки в тях, или пък самостоятелно. Често има намаления от цели -20% на асортимента в магазините и онлайн, дори и в момента тече такова, така че можете да се възползвате, ако сте си набелязали някой продукт.

Favorites: Spring 2022 (Makeup, Perfume, Skincare & Haircare) |EN|

Since summer is right around the corner I decided it's time to share with you my spring favorites for 2022. In case you're interested in similar posts, you can catch up on my winter favorites here and here - my favorite products for 2021.

Let's start with favorite spring makeup items:

Max Factor Radiant Lift foundation 

in the shade 55 Golden Natural

I have a full review on this foundation here. High coverage, demi-matt finish, light formula, amazing longevity and  I don't need to mattify my skin more than once daily whenever wearing it. This is a foundation I can count on and has amazing performance anytime and anywhere. I wore it a lot this spring due the variety of weather conditions - there was both snow and 30 C heat. Highly recommended for ladies with oily skin!

Fixing powder Bell HYPOallergenic Perfectionist Powder 

in the shade 01 Banana

I already wrote about how good this powder is as I included it in my yearly favorites for 2021 here Beside it has the most beautiful print I've seen, it's great for oily skin: really light, fixes good, mattifyes strong and it's not drying or heavy on the skin. Such a good powder that impressed me so much and i can't recommend it enough!

Bronzing powder NL Beauty Sunkissed

You can read my review on this bronzing powder here The powder is in beautiful bronzy shade, it has a nice satin finish and I think it's suitable for women with medium to dark skin tone or fake tan, due to its high opacity. I wore it on my cheekbones and crease a lot during the spring time and it's a good one.

*Bell HYPOallergenic Stay On! lip tint 

in the shade 01 My Mocha and 02 Rose Petal

Those tints are my new love - light but pigmented, with a beautiful matte finish, high longevity and such a nice looking on the lips. The best part is that they don't leave any stains on clothes, skin or cups. For light and everyday makeup I like to apply 1 layer to achieve the trendy lip blush look.

These are literally the only 2 nail polishes I wore throughout this spring: fresh pastel coral Tokyo Light and the bright fuchsia Miss Beverly Hills - I have full review with many photos on the second one here Great opaque colors, good longevity and easy application, recommend.

Moving onto the skincare:

The Body Shop Vitamin E

 day cream with SPF 30

This cream is so light it feels more like an emulsion or serum and works well as base underneath my makeup and on its own. It's not mattifying but it doesn't feel heavy or greasy at all on my oily skin. My skin feels good with it and I don't have any new hyperpigmentation spots so I can safely recommend it.

*NIVEA Double Effect

This makeup remover is so good! It removes all of my makeup with ease and it doesn't leave oily residue afterwards. I really like it and highly recommend it!

*Organic rose water 

Natura of Agiva

I'm such a fan of rose water and I apply it daily on my skin, mornings and evenings on clear skin, instead of toner. This one has a nice pump so you get an instant refreshing burst and the skin feels soft and soothed. Sometimes I also add some of this rose water to my homemade hair mask so it's quite multifunctional.

Balea Totes Meer

This mask has thick consistency and fine exfoliating parts, once you rinse it off the skin feels clear, smooth and refreshed, with even tone. Such a good one for oily skin!

*NIVEA Q10 Energy sheet mask 

with Vitamin C

Sheet masks are a new thing for me and I'm at the beginning of my experimenting journey with them - this one has my favorite ingredient, i.e. Vitamin C and the effect after usage is instant: fresh, even skin tone, healthy glow and hydrated, soft skin. Definitely a good one!

Vaseline Lip Therapy

My favorite tik tok dermatologist Adele recently said that my favorite lip balm Carmes isn't good for the lips and offered this Vaseline Lip Therapy Original as better option so I got it - it has light and vaseline-y consistency, no smell or taste (which I'm fan of) and I'm using it every night to keep my lips moisturized.

My favorite body care products are following:

The Body Shop shower gel 

with avocado

This shower gel truly smells like avocado (strange, but facts!) and has rich, thick formula that’s super gentle on the skin.

*IKAROV Detoxifying washing scrub 

with brown sugar, coffee and orange

I have full review on this scrub here Smells amazing like coffee & orange, it’s gently exfoliating and washing at the same time and effectively removes worn out fake tan and dead skin cells. Very good one!

Vicki’s Boutique perfumed shimmering body lotion

 (smells like Carolina Herrera Good Girl)

This lotion smells just like Good Girl by Carolina Herrera – fine and not gourmand cacao and white florals, it has light but hydrating formula and really nice golden sparkle.

GARNIER Natural Bronzer self-tan mousse

As a huge self-tan fan I’ve tried many and apparently the mousse is the easiest to apply – super light, quickly absorbing and streak-free. I’m not the biggest fan of the scent in this one (I feel is a bit plastic and artificial) but it gives my skin natural looking tan that’s not too orangy or fake.

Literally the only 2 scents I’ve been wearing this spring:

Avon Soft Musk

This one I used up already – I started using it in March and then I finished it in May. So good! Smells like tarty rhubarb, blackcurrant, sour cherry, red currant and sandalwood, sour and warm at the same time. Super budget-friendly and unique smell.

Nina Ricci 

Ricci Ricci EDP

Old favorite of mine – I have full review on it here Smells like rhubarb (again – I’m such a big rhubarb fan!), white floral and musk, super long-lasting and it has metric silage. What a compliment getter!

Let’s finish with some haircare favorites:

Shampoo, conditioner, mask and oil-spray 

Pantene pro v miracles Lift & Volume

I got these 4 products as a gift in a nice & big pouch and I think this is such a good deal – shampoo smells amazing and makes my hair voluminous and smooth, while the conditioner, mask and oil-spray make it soft, silky and shiny. I’m really impressed by this Pantene line and I’ll repurchase it for sure! s

*Natura of Agiva hair mask

This mask has thick, rich formula, smell super yummy like macadamia and does wonders for my long, thick, dry and colored hair: after use my hair is soft, nourished, hydrated and easy to comb through. It has 96% natural ingredients and the packaging itself is produced with recycled materials. Love it!

Balea Purple Dahlia

Something new – hair perfume. Do you know there is such thing on the market? This one smells just like the above mentioned perfume  Avon delice de velvet berries and I love layering them both together. Using classic perfume on your hair may result in damaging it due to the high alcohol and oil percentage, so the special hair perfume is interesting and harmless product to use on this body part.
