Hello everyone ❤
Eyeshadow palettes together with neutral matte
lipsticks are my biggest temptation when it comes to makeup products and today
we are going to talk about my latest eyeshadow palette purchase – Bourjois Eyecatching Nude.
I am true & huge Bourjois fan and this brand is my
top favorite one so I had a review on the old 3-pan eyeshadow palettes here, and today’s review is
all about the latest launched eyeshadow palette by Bourjois, which is part of
the collection Eyecatching, that includes mascara and eyeliner as well. There was another eyeshadow palette, called
Eyecatching La Palette Nude, which
was released at the beginning of this summer together with the mascara
Eyecatching but it wasn’t my cup of tea so I’ve skip it but Eyecatching Nude I needed so I decided to give
it a try. I haven’t tried the eyeliner yet because I don’t like & use this
type of tip, I do own the mascara but I haven’t opened it yet so I can’t share
my thoughts on this product yet. I have to admit one thing for sure – those packagings are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l ❤❤❤
Eyecatching Nude eyeshadow palette comes in stable and
really compact packaging that has nice panoramic mirror. Eyecatching Nude contains 8 eyeshadows with different finishes – matt, pearl, glitter and satin. In the packaging there is also double-ended
sponge tip applicator which I don’t plan to use because I prefer to work with
professional makeup brushes and this type of applicators are useless for me.
8 shades are swatched
& described from left to right as follow:
1.Ivory with semi-pearl finish – the must-have shade for any eyeshadow pallete that has
to work as highlighter. I like that this shade isn’t pure white which would
look too harsh and unnatural on my dark skin – this one is soft ivory shade, which delicately highlights my browbone and
inner corner. This shade has semi-pearl finish which is almost satin.
2.Light beige with warm undertone and matte finish – at first sight this shade looks way too boring
& indiscernible but I always get a lot of use from this type of
nude-skin-like shades with matte finish and I use them in every makeup I do. I
love setting my eyeshadow primer with this type of eyeshadow as well as to
lighten up my smokey eye if I put too much dark eyeshadow.
3.Medium brown with warm undertone and matte finish– again, another classic brown shade which is
perfect for applying in the crease to add some depth as well used as smoke
shade whenever doing classic neutral smokey eye look.
4.Light pink with beige undertone and satin finish – light, neutral and delicate pink shade which
is suitable for applying on the whole mobile lid. The easiest & daytime
smokey eye I’ll do by applying this shade on the mobile lid, a bit of №8 in the lash line + some mascara – for classic,
office suitable everyday makeup look.
5.Bright warm golden with pearly finish and slightly greenish-mustard
undertone – my favorite shade from this palette ❤
I really love warm golden eyeshadows and they really make my hazel eyes
pop so I tend to wear them quite often. This golden shade isn’t the classic
gold one – on my skin appears as golden with light greenish-mustard undertone.
I wear a lot and dark makeup so I’ll definitely rock this one applied on the
whole mobile lid and smoked out with dark brown or even black – for intense,
sultry & smokey look. For more of a daytime suitable look I’ll apply it
with light hand using shader brush on 2/3 of my mobile lid, smoked out with a
bit of №3 and the inner 1/3 of the lid I’ll highlight using №1.
6.Mauve with warm undertone and fine silver glitter – this shade looks really pretty in the pan but
applied on the skin is semi-transparent and mostly silver glitter on light pink
base. It is really fine and
delicate, maybe suitable used as an accent in bisuness look but I personally am
not a fan of this semi-transparent glitters and I’ll wear this one patted on
sticky eyeshadow base to make it fully opaque or eventually applied on top of
another eyeshadow – as an accent.
7.Warm plum shade with matte finish – pretty plum shade,
perfect for soft smoking in the outer V and combined with shades 3, 4 and 6. I’ll wear it applied on the whole mobile lid and
smoked with matte black eyeshadow – for vamp, sultry and suitable for green
eyes fall look. I think this shade would be great applied as eyeliner with
angled brush.
8.Graphite-brown with cool undertone and matte finish – another mush-have shade for smoky makeup. This
one is in interesting graphite-brown with cool undertone which is dark enough
to work as smoke shade & adding depth and drama to the look, but at the
same time isn’t too harsh and obligatory as a black shade. It could be applied also as eyeliner with
angled brush for soft definition.
All eyeshadows have medium pigmentation – only the
upper mentioned 6th shade has poor pigmentation and requires patting
on the lid to get full opacity but the rest are having medium level
pigmentation that allows you to build it up to fully. All eyeshadows have really
soft & fine texture and do not crumble even if you use brush with hard
bristles. Longevity on its own is good and with primer underneath – high.
Eyecatching Nude for me matches its name perfectly –
one truly neutral palette, that contains 6 shades with different finishes in
neutral shades and 2 accent shades(yellow-mustardy gold and pinkish-silver
glitter) which are quite moderate and mild at the same time. Speaking of moderation this is the word that
fully describes this eyeshadow palette: there isn’t a single
shade that is too much, it’s not possible to create a combination of colors
that will look too overdone on you/won’t suit you and on my opinion you can’t
make too dark/vamp makeup using shades from this palette only. Is this palette
unique? No. I guess that every woman that wears makeup every now and then has
similar if not identical shades in other palettes. In my collection I didn’t have one universal and fully
neutral eyeshadow palette – with light, bisuness and classy shades and various
finishes (well, I have to admit that I own way too much palettes with dark,
reddish, greenish and etc vamp shades :D but even I don’t wear full face &
bold smoky eyes on everyday bases (even though I would rock it ;)
Eyecatching Nude has been my go-to eyeshadow palette
for the past month and it is my top pick for when travelling – I just add 1-2
vamp and bold single eyeshadows to use as an accent (for my last trip I brought
with me single eyeshadow in copper-rusty shade NYXWanderlust Rome) and voila.
I lost my previous top favorite everyday
palette on a trip at the beginning of the summer (I am talking about Oh So
Special by Sleеk – review here)so I definitely felt the miss of universal
palette with neutral shades that to come in hand whenever I need it.
In case you also don’t have compact, simple and daytime/everyday makeup look suitable eyeshadow palette than go and test Eyecatching Nude. Otherwise if you do have favorite, go-to & neutral based eyeshadow palette that has similar color selection the skip on this one, except unless the leading criterion is the compact design
- Eyecatching Nude has the most compact & sleek design and it
is especially suitable if you need to retouch/darken up your makeup on the go.
Have you tried any of the eyeshadow palettes Eyecatching
by Bourjois and what are your thoughts? Share them with me in the comments.
