Another year passed by and this time it was one of a kind! I hope that you and your loved ones are okay and safe and may 2021 is filled with joy & happiness ❤

It is tradition to share with you in the month of January my  favorite products for the past year – post about 2019’s favorites you can see here, for 2018 – here and for 2017 – here. In 2020 I spent a lot of time with no makeup on my face (and with messy bun as well 😊) which is quite unusual for me. I barely wear full face makeup and in most of the time in case I was wearing some kind of makeup, it was some concealer, powder, brow pencil, mascara and some lip liner with a touch of lipstick/lip balm – well, according my vision this is a no makeup makeup look😊However I do attended some parties & special occasions in the spring & summer, so let’s see which products I used then:

Max Factor Radiant Lift foundation in the shade #55 Beige

I recently posted a in depth review on this foundation – you can check it here Long story short: extremely long-lasting and high coverage foundation that has semi-matte finish, gives the skin super pretty natural and it looks flawless in real life and on photos too. Highly recommend!

Setting transparent powder Bell Hypoallergenic

Bell is a new brand for me – I was looking for a new transparent fixing powder and I got my hands on this hypoallergenic compact powder by Bell.  This powder is fine, transparent, it works great for setting my makeup, it does not emphasizes my pores and fine lines and mattifyes my skin for a long time. It is so finely pressed that there is no way to overdo you makeup with it. My new favorite powder😊

Concealer Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in the shade Neutralizer

All-time favorite of mine❤This concealer has the lightest formula that never creases in fine lines! It blends like a dream and is the only concealer that I can wear on bare face, without foundation. All summer long I wasn’t wearing foundation but only a few dabs of this concealer on my under eye area for brightening the look.  I already wrote in depth about Instant Age Rewind here

Bourjois Sourcil Precision brow pencil in the shade #01 Noir Ebene

In 2020 I changed my hair color from blonde to dark chestnut and then to blackest black so I had to get a new set of brow products, suitable for brunettes.  My brows are ash blond, really pale and light and the contrast between them and my new black hair color was so strong that I was confused what product should I go for. I gave a brow pencil a try for the first time in 10 years (can you imagine – 10 years?!) and I choose Bourjois Sourcil Precision in the shade Noir Ebene. Noir Ebene is in natural soft black shade and it has slightly dry consistency, but it’s soft enough to not feel scratchy on the skin. It has great staying power on my oily skin, it’s not fading or bleeding and the shade suits my black hair perfectly. My tip to achieve the most natural looking brow filling is to apply softly the brow pencil on the brows and then using an angled brush to blend the pencil until desired shape and thickness.

I’m going to have my brows microbladed at some point later this year and until then I’ll continue using this brow pencil.  

Catrice Liquid Liner Meet Joe Black

To be honest I’ve worn this eyeliner ~20 times in the last year but it’s really good and I decided to give it a honorable mention in this post. I heard about this eyeliner from my favorite blogger - Mateja's Beauty Blog

I was looking for a new eyeliner and I decided to trust Mateja’s recommendation about this eyeliner and I’m very impressed by the performance of it.  This eyeliner has full opacity formula in intense black shade, you just need 1 swipe to achieve that deep cat eye look, longevity is wow – no fading, no bleeding, no flacking or etc. Great performance! The only downside I consider as such is the tip – it has felt tip which I’m not a fan of, I much prefer classic thin brush.

 

Rimmel ScandalEyes eyeliner in the shade 004 Brown

I got so many compliments whenever I use brown eyeliner instead of black, literally every single time😊

 This eye pencil is in interesting bronzy shade that has fine golden shimmers but it looks super decent when applied and it’s perfect for everyday makeup look. It has nice gel texture, it glides on like a dream on the skin and performs excellent both – on the waterline and on the eyelid, plus you can easily sharpen it. I like to put some black eyeliner in my upper waterline (see below for reference) and this one on the eyelid. This way my look is softly defined and the warm bronze shade make my hazel eyes pop.

Maybeline Tattoo Liner eye pencil in the shade #900 Deep Onyx Black

Another purchase recommended by my favorite Mateja😊This is not a new product on my makeup stash but it’s so good that I’m constantly raving about it – literally all-time favorite in terms of classic black eyeliners.  It has soft gel texture, it is in the deepest black shade and it has amazing staying power in the waterline as well as on the skin. Favorite ❤

Bourjois Beau Regards eyeshadow palette Place d’Opera

Okay, in 2020 I mostly used the mirror in this palette instead the eyeshadows there 😊 I have full review on it here. Actually I first owned the cooler version of this palette (Place d’Opera) and I wrote about it here, but I gifted it to my mom and bought myself the warmer version. Rue du Café contains 8 eyeshadow shades in natural, earth tones, all of them are super opaque and have different finishes – from matte and satin to shimmer. On the other side the palette has nice and big mirror and eyeshadow brush. Rue du Café is such a great neutral eyeshadow palette that is great to use on daily basis and not only – you can easily create dark, vampy smoky looks with it too!

Lips:

Vivienne Sabo lip liner in the shade 103

My favorite lip product for 2020 ❤Vivienne Sabo is French brand but it’s the bestselling drugstore brand in Russia and the republics and I heard about it from a Russian influencer I follow. I follow a lot of Russian influencers and I often check the platform  https://irecommend.ru/for references (if you hadn’t check this platform yet, well this is like in depth encyclopedia for reviews, photos and all kind of useful information you can potentially need). Disclaimer – the platform is available in Russian only. In this platform Vivienne Sabo is probably the most discussed brand and it is well loved so I decided to give their products a try. Vivienne Sabo’s lip liners are super popular and I bought myself the bestselling shade - #103 that quickly turned into my favorite lip product. Shade is cool pink nude with light purple undertone and it looks super natural on the skin, it’s literally a shade darker than my natural lip shade and I can wear it on its own or combined with lipstick/lipgloss – it looks so natural! My favorite lip combination is this pencil + Catrice’s gel lipstick (see below for reference): the pencil’s shade is slightly darker than my lips and the lipstick’s shade is slightly lighter and when worn in combination this is the perfect ombre look that makes my lips plumper, but in the same time is such a neutral combination that I can rock it on daily basis and combine it with literally any makeup look. Other thing I like about this lip pencil is the consistency of it – it is really soft but it’s kind of gel so it’s not bleeding or melting on my lips. Total favorite ❤

Golden Rose Dream Lips lip liner in the shade 504

Someone recommended this lip liner to me (maybe it was also a hit on the irecommen.ru platform, I don’t know) and I bought it although I’m not a fan of Golden Rose – a few years ago they stole my pictures and I had massive scandal with their brand manager about this case and since then I’m not buying any of their product, but I decided to close my eyes for this lip pencil (but only this time – I’m Capricorn and I never forgive😉 This lip pencil has soft consistency, it is easy to apply and to sharpen, it has great staying power on the lips and it is in beautiful cool medium dark brown nude that goes perfectly with all of my lipsticks. I like it!

Catrice Power Plumping Gel Lipstick in the shade 020 My Lip Choice

Something new😊I’ve been wearing only liquid matte lipsticks or lipglosses for the past 6+ years and this is my first time wearing a classic lipstick with creamy finish since then. These lipsticks by Catrice are the new favorites on the market and I decided to give them a try – of course, I picked the lightest nude I found. The bullet is really pretty – black with rosegold details and it has cool engraving saying „Be Brave“. Formula is so creamy and soft, opacity is sheer to medium (you can easily build it up as per your preferences) and longevity is ok for this finish - 3-4h. I also like that it’s fading gradiently and it leaves soft tint to the lips.  I don’t like the scent of it – I find it too sweet and artificial but you can’t feel it once you applied the lipstick anymore. Shade is light flesh nude with slightly peachy undertone and it makes your appearance fresh & awake but it’s light enough to be suitable for daily looks. This lipstick adds light wash of color and shine to the lips, plus the formula is gel like, it is easy to apply and does not dries out my sensitive lips. As I mentioned above, my favorite combination for the past year is Vivienne Sabo’s lip pencil in the shade 103 and this lipstick.

 NL Beauty by Nikoleta Lozanova liquid lipstick in the shade Cappuccino

The most popular Bulgarian lipstick 😊You can see my swatches & read my in depth review on it here Cappuccino is super long-lasting liquid lipstick that has velvet matte finish and it's in beautiful milky brown nude with peachy undertone. 

Miss Sporty Precious Shine lip gloss in the shade Shiny Nude & Universal Nude

Miss Sporty is a brand that is barely mentioned but I believe it offers some really nice products – like their nail polishes, mascaras and lipglosses. These 2 lipglosses are called Precious Shine and trust me, they are great! I own 2 shades as you can see - Shiny Nude & Universal Nude. Shiny Nude is really light and almost clear baby pink lip gloss with shimmery finish, while  Universal Nude is darker pink creamy shade that is still on the nude side and looks super natural on the lips. The formula says it will give additional volume to the lips (you know that tangly feeling you get while using such products) but I don’t think it make my lips fuller, however the tangly feeling is barely detectable.  Staying power is great издръжливост (3-4h), it has artificial raspberry smell and the quality is really impressive and I highly recommend trying this lovely lipglosses❤

Perfumes:

My most used perfume for the past year is just one – my favorite Marc Jacobs Decadence EDP❤In 2020 I used mostly this one because I always associate the smell of a perfume with moments, people and memories and to me, Decadence smells like happiness. I got it for the first time in 2018 and since then I wore it on so many happy momenta – on my friend’s bachelorette party & wedding, on my university graduation, on my trips, vacations and it is packed with positive vibes for me. Happiness in a bottle ❤Decadence smells like happiness and throughout this awful year I need to remind myself often that better days are coming and with just a few spritzes of Decadence and…voila! I instantly feel happier & more optimistic! I don’t have full review on EDP but I have such in depth review for its lighter version Decadence Divine - you can see it here

Manicure:

I don’t have a go-to nail polish I’ve been using non-stop for the past year, but I was wearing mostly a taupish nude manicure so I’ll choose OPI Tickle My France-y (you can ready my review on it here).
