After I posted my 10 tips for healthy, long & shiny hair (here: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.com/2015/07/haircare10-tips-for-healthy-strong-long_13.html ) I decided that I can write another post about my 10 tips for clear,
healthy and beautiful skin. I’ve already mentioned that as a teenager i had
really bad skin – my skin was acne prone, oily, with lots of imperfections and
extremely sensitive. It cost me a lot of time, money and procedures to get
healthy and clear skin, with no imperfections. During this time I’ve learned a
lot about the skincare and so I decided to share some of my tips with you.
Here they are:
1.Drink a lot of water. I already
mentioned this tip in my 10 tips for healthy hair post as well but I want to
mention again how important is water for the skin. Please, drink at least 2L
pro day and if possible 2,5L or even more. Drinking a cup of hot water with few
lemon squeezes (I also add some ginger) before breakfast in the morning works
really well and it really clears out the skin.
2.Get rid of smoking and alcohol. Well those habits really bad for your organism but their effect reflects mostly on your skin. When smoking your skin becomes grey-ish and it causes
early wrinkles. If you drink alcohol
pretty often your skin gets puffy. Although a cup of wine might be healthy for your skin (wine contains a lot of antioxidants), but the rest of the alcohol drinks do not do.
3.Reduce sugar. When I had really bad skin my dermatologist told me to stop consume sugar as chocolate (except for dark chocolate), cakes, ice cream and etc ‘’junk sweets’’ and to replace
them with honey, fruits, stevia, agave, tahan. When I was on this diet my skin really got cleared.
Nowadays I eat this type of junk sweets sometimes but not on everyday bases.
4.Eat more skin clearing foods. A lot of scientist said that the foods which are natural green (like nettles, fennel, peppermint, kale, pea, ,avocado, garlic, alfalfa sprouts, broccoli, artichoke, green tea, pumpkin seeds etc.) work best for the skin health.
5.Always use SPF and UVF. It really is super super important to wear SPF on everyday bases. Even when
it’s raining, snowing or its cloudy. Non protecting your skin from the sunlight causes
drying, wrinkles, sun spots and whole another range of imperfections. I
personally wear SPF 20 during the cold seasons, SPF30 during the warm seasons
and SPF 50+ whenever I’m at the beach.
6.Forget about the solarium. Solarium is really bad for your eyes, face and body
skin and it’s a worse for you than the sun. If you want to have tan then use a
self tanner.
7.Wash your face regular. It’s perfect to wash your face in the mornings with
gentle face wash, gel, foam, toner or even micellar water and at night to
remove your makeup really well. And never ever fell asleep with your makeup on.
8. Hydrate your skin. Absolutely every skin type needs hydration. It’s a myth that the oily skin doesn’t need hydration. You can basically find every type of consistency – cream, gel, fluid,
serum etc, depending on your skin type.
9.Find your skintype and the needs of your skin. 2 weeks
ago I posted how to find your skin type (here: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.com/2015/08/basicskintype-how-to-find-yours-en.html ). Make sure all products you use
on your skin are exactly for your skin type.
10.Apply face
masks regulary. If you have combination or oily skin then use deep
cleansing masks – it will reduce your pores and it will reduce the oiliness. If
you have dry skin then use oil based leave in masks for instant hydration.
