Review:KIKO Smooth Temptation Lipstick #04 (EN)

Today's review is about another nude lipstick but this time in a non typical shade of nude – terracotta (in case you're not familiar what terracotta is – basically a neutral, earth tone shade, a combination of light orange/even red that has warm brown undertone) Terracotta is really trendy at the moment – fashion, makeup, even interior and the fact that is kind of a universal shade makes it suitable for a lot of women.

KIKO Smooth Temptation Lipstick comes in a cute black matte cartoon packaging (just like the luxurious brands – good job, KIKO!), and the packaging of the lipstick is plastic and it matches the shade of the lipstick. The line Smooth Temptation contains 6 colors and mine is #04. Consistency наof the lipstick is super soft and creamy and it feels just like you're applying a lip balm. The finish is so creamy that it's almost glossy. 

Pigmentation is high – with just one swipe the opacity is full and intensive. This lipstick feels super comfy and light on the lips, it's easy to apply and you don't need a lip liner underneath (there is no bleeding in the fine lines), it doesn't dry my lips – after wearing it my lips feel like I was wearing a lip balm. Longevity is poor which is no surprise keeping in mind the glossy finish – around 2 hours and it leaves a stain during the wear, but you definitely need reapplication after eating or drinking. 

It has scent – vanilla biscuits which I don't like but i'm glad you can't feel it once after the lipstick is applied. The amount of product you get is so tiny – just 1,2 gr. which is basically the size of an eyeliner (for comparison the usual amount of lipstick is 4gr and when it comes to liquid lipsticks is around 5ml) When it comes to makeup a lot of women prefer tiny sizes so they can use it up before the expire date but I used up this lipstick for 2 weeks (two weeks) New record :D

I like the color, the way this lipstick feels on my lips and the way it looks but I don't think the amount of product is reasonable for the poor longevity it has and the need of often reapplication (the scent is also a minus for me, but that is subjective point of view). I have really similar shade that it's almost identical to this - NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Stockholm and here is a comparison swatch:

I prefer the matte lip cream over the KIKO Smooth Temptation lipstick and I recommend it better – it has higher longevity and it's bigger size.

If you're into really hydrating lipsticks with good pigmentation KIKO Smooth Temptation might be exactly for you but if you prefer matte formula and better longevity than give NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Stockholm a try (review will be up soon!)
