Basic:Different Concealer Shades (EN)

Today’s post contains basic information about the different colored concealers & how to use them. As you can tell there are a many colors you can choose from to cover & conceal the different types skin discoloration or pigmentation.

Here are the different concealers & how to use them properly:

-White: White concealer is great for highlighting certain areas of your face – between the eyebrows, under the eyes, chin. Used with Beige to cover up heavy under eye dark circles.   

-Beige: Used to conceal slight shadows and brighten up the complexion and under eye area. Used with White to conceal heavy under eye dark circles and around the nose area to conceal slight shadows.

-Neutral. If you don’t have that many problem areas on your skin, you can just use regular concealer in a shade that matches your skin tone or 1-2 tones lighter (if you are looking for some highlighting)

-Yellow: Yellow concealers hide dark circles, bruises or veins. Any area that has tones of purple or purple-grays can be hidden easily with a yellow shade.

     -Orange. Darker skin tones can use orange concealer to correct dark circles or very severe dark spots on the face.Orange helps to neutralize the blue toned under eye dark circles and purple bruises. It also can help hide any hyper-pigmentation or white sun spots.

-Pink: Used to conceal dark gray shadows just below puffy under eye dark circle area and  shadows around the nose.

    -Light Peach (Salmon):Used to brighten up olive skin tones and balance out slight color discolorations. Can be used for slight coverage of blue veins.

-Mint/Light Green: Neutralizes redness as well. Green concealer is used to reduce redness on the skin. This is used for spots on the skin that are red, including blemishes, acne, rosacea, windburn and even sunburn.

-Lavender Purple: Used to neutralize yellow-colored bruises or imperfections, yellow under eye or cheek area due to an illness/flu etc on bronze-olive skin tones. Purple concealer is used to mute any yellow undertones on your skin. If you have a sallow, dull, yellow-ish complexion, it will brighten up your face instantly.

-Light Blue: Used to neutralize orange spots, tan lines/spots, age spots and freckles.

You can go for a concealer palette or just one concealer (stick, liquid, or mousse texture) in the color you need.

Find out what type is your skin discoloration and choose the right concealer for you. I personally use green concealer (when I need to cover some rednesses on my face) and salmon concealer when I’m doing dark & intensive smokey eyes.
