NOTD:Bright Neon Pink (Perfect #S28) |EN|

Finally there is a colorful manicure on the blog :D I do love my nude manicure but I can’t wear them in the summer - they do look quite not contrasting to the sunny weather and bright outfits, so somewhere in the end of May I stop using them as my go-to and move forward to the bright summer shades in my collection.

 

In the summertime I always go for bright, fresh colors in terms of manicure & pedicure options and ever since I started painting my nails (nearly since 12-13 years) I always wear on my summer vacations only bright pink manicure and any other. Why? I don’t have a logical explanation, but different shades of hot pink (and mostly neon pink) are my favorites for summer & hot weather. The only nail polish I’ve used up 5 or 6 bottles of (keeping in mind the fact that I own as many nail polishes as your local nail salon) and I’ll probably will continue buying it if I can find it available in the stores, is exactly a bright pink neon shade by Catherine Arley – you can see some pink manicures with it here, here and here. 

 

This summer I also wanted to go for a bright pink manicure and this time I bought Perfect S 28 (*Perfect is a Bulgarian nail polish brand)  – bright neon pink shade, exactly what I was looking for ❤ Perfect’s nail polishes always have flawless characteristics: wide flat brush, easy application, fast drying power, longevity is 7 full days (I paint my nails every Sunday and the only note I see in my manicure as I remove it is the grown part at the beginning of the nail – no chipping, scratching, fading, etc) You probably know that the neons often have a jelly consistency (medium coverage and slightly see trough pay off if you apply them on 1-2 coats) so this one makes no exception. For short nails (as pedicure for example) 2 coats will be enough for you, while for long nails I need 3 in order to have fully opaque color on my nails. All neon shades dry to a semi-matte finish so depending on my mood I either add thick coat of top coat to add that gel finish, or add coat of matte top coat to mattify it completely. 

This shade is the brightest neon pink: bright, neon and with slightly orange undertone ❤ It looks great on my hands but it is even more cool on my pedicure ❤ I associate this color with sea, beach, carelessness and relax, but I am not wearing it only on the beach, but throughout the whole summer, for me summer goes hand in hand with pink manicure & pedicure.

NOTD: Bright Neon Pink |Perfect #S28| (BG)

Най-накрая цветен маникюр в блога :D Колкото и да обичам нюд маникюрите, лятно време не мога да им се наслаждавам, изглеждат ми твърде неконтрастно на фона на слънчевото време и свежите дрехи, затова и някъде през май приключвам с нюдовете и така чаааак до септември. 

Лятото нося залагам само на свежи, ярки цветове в маникюра и педикюра си и откакто съм започнала да се лакирам (приблизително 12-13г.) на море ходя само и единствено с яркорозов маникюр и педикюр и никой друг цвят не може да го замести. Защо? Нямам логично обяснение, но яркорозовото в различните му вариации (и най-вече неоново) е безапелационният ми фаворит за летен маникюр. 

Единственият лак за нокти, от който съм изхабила 5-6 бутилки (при положение, че притежавам лакове за нокти колкото квартален салон за маникюр :D) е именно яркорозов неон на Catherine Arley – розови маникюри с него можете да видите тук, тук и тук. Всъщност ако още го откривах по магазините, сигурно щях да продължавам да си го купувам, но марката явно се изтегли от българския пазар, защото никъде не виждам вече нейните лакове.

Това лято отново минава под знака на розовия маникюр, този път в лицето на Perfect S 28 – искрящ ярко неоноворозов цвят, точно каквото търсех ❤ В последните поне 4г. не се бях лакирала с лак на Perfect и този го взех само заради цвета, но ме изненада с абсолютно безупречните си характеристики: широка и плоска четка, лесно нанасяне, бързо съхнене, а трайността е 7 пълни дни (лакирам се всяка неделя и единствената забележка по маникюра ми е израсналата част в основата на нокътя, нищо друго). Вероятно знаете, че неоните често са с консистенция на желе (т.е. средна покривност и леко прозиране, ако се нанасят само 1-2 пласта), като този не прави изключение, за къси нокти (особено при педикюра) 2 пласта са напълно достатъчни за наситен цвят, докато при по-дълги нокти (при маникюра), за да не прозират връхчетата задължително слагам 3 пласта. Както всички неони, и този изсъхва до полуматов финиш, но в зависимост от настроението си му слагам или класически топ лак (за гел ефект), или пък матиращ, с който го матирам допълнително и става още по-летен.

Цветът е най-искрящото неоново розово: ярко, наситено розово с лек оранжев подтон ❤

Стои страхотно на маникюр, а на педикюр е просто разкош ❤ Този цвят асоциирам с море, плаж, безгрижие и почивка, но освен на море си го нося и в София, просто не си представям да е лято и да не съм с розов маникюр & педикюр.

Review: MAC Whirl (EN)

There is literally no chance you to be not familiar with MAC’s lipsticks, which are their most iconic products and the most emblematic one of them is no doubt the shade Whirl – ever since Kylie Jenner made this her signature shade her, this universal dark nude is an absolute bestseller. 

I adore nude lipsticks and I do wear only nude shades on my lips, with different undertones and finishes, but always in the nude range: from light, milky beige lip gloss to classic nude with red undertone, “my lips but better” shade, to bold dark reddish-brown with velvet matte finish.

Whirl is such e MY type of shade and I had no doubts if I should add it to my makeup collection – extremely universal dark nude with pinkies-brown undertone, matte finish and creamy consistency.

It contains 3gr of product, placed in classic MAC bullet – sophisticated black bullet with silver ring around the cap and engraved label MAC. I personally really like MAC’s sophisticated packaging although many people find them too boring and not luxurious looking, despite the price.  

Form of the lipstick is classic and it could be applied easily without lining the lips with liner first, but I prefer precisely lined lip contour and I always use lip liner underneath. I haven’t tried MAC’s lip liners yet, the shades Whirl and the iconic Soar got my attention, but I haven’t buy them yet, what are your thoughts on them?

Whirl has light and delicate vanilla scent that isn’t detectable anymore once applied. Consistency is soft and creamy and once applied on the lips it sets to classic matte finish. 

Longevity is about ~6hours if I consume only drinks, but if I eat I need to reapply it in the center of my lips - I want to point out that the lipstick fades away only in the center of the lips and quite evenly.

 

Whirl’s shade is described as dark nude with rosy-brown undertone, but on my medium skin with warm olive undertone appears as dark neutral nude with brown undertone. It makes me teeth look really white and looks great on medium olive skin, like mine.

Here are some comparisons with some other dark nude shades from my collection, left to right as follows: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Rome (review here), Bourjois Velvet The Lipstick in the shade Violine Brown (review here), Bourjois Velvet The Lipstick in the shade Moka-Dero (review here) Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in the shade Nude York:

 

-      ❤ NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Rome is more on the red side;

-      ❤ Bourjois Velvet The Lipstick in the shade Violine Brown is more pinkish and lighter nude;

-     ❤ Bourjois Velvet The Lipstick in the shade Moka-Dero is the most identical shade from all I own in my collection, but it is a tone darker and more brown;

-      ❤ Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in the shade 34 Nude York significantly reddish and darker nude;

 

Whirl is such a universal shade lipstick, which suits so many women and it is easily combined with so many different looks. I personally prefer wearing it in following 2 combinations:

❤ Simple black or dark brown eyeliner, intensively contoured face, a touch of neutral blush and a lot of highlighter;

❤ Classic smokey eye in soft, brown shades, a bit of neutral blush and some highlighter on top of the cheeks;
 

Of course I do wear Whirl in many more makeup looks, but in these 2 is the main accent.  Whirl is shade that is suitable to be everyday go-to lipstick as well as option for a special occasion. Whirl can be no doubt worn at any time of the day and on every season, since is such a versatile shade.   цвят, подходящ както за носене в ежедневието, така и за специален повод, по всяко време на денонощието и при всеки годишен сезон. Absolutely must have product for me ❤ 

Does a MAC lipstick worth the investment?
Maybe. For an iconic shade like Whirl - I'll definitely say YES, but for a boring shade which isn't popular, I don't think so.

I think that MAC’s fame in terms of lip products is definitely deserved and MAC is still a brand that dictates the trends in the lip category. 

For a total nude lipstick fan like me, owning a Whirl was a must in my makeup collection, I also like Velvet Teddy & Soar and I'll probably et my hands on them too.

Of course, you can find identical to Whirl shades in literally every makeup brand  - as characteristics, Whirl reallyyyyyy reminds me on the bullet matte lipsticks Velvet Matte by Golden Rose. 

What are your thoughts on the brand MAC in general? I really like Whirl (as you can tell), I've tried the pot concealer Prolongwear (which I didn't like at all, I found it too greasy for my oily skin), I also didn't end up liking their eyeshadow (I wasn't impressed by the pigmentation & blending).

A few MAC products are on my wish list (Oil Control face lotion, lipglosses Lipglass and the upper mentioned lipsticks), so I'll be glad if you share your thoughts/experience regarding them or anything else from this brand :)
