NOTD:Neon Gradient Ombre + Glitter |Sunset Inspired| (EN)

Hello everyone

I was inspired by the makeup I showed you last week here: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.com/2015/07/motdsunset-inspired-bright-matte-coral_19.html so I decided to create and manicure, inspired by the same theme as the makeup look – sunset. The final result didn’t came as I expected but when you do an ombre manicure you never know what it would turn out.

First I applied a thick coat of cream white nail polish (Classics #04) so the colors pop out more. I waited until it was completely dry and then I applied the other nail polishes.

I used makeup sponge and I applied the nail polishes like this: yellow, light pink and neon hot coralpink. The yellow polish I used is  Yes Love Neon Glitter G11-6 and I wrote more about it here http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.com/2015/05/notdpastel-yellow-neon-glitter-yes-love_15.html ; the light pink nail polish is from the same collection Yes Love Neon Glitter G11-4  http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.com/2015/03/notdbright-pink-neon-glitter-yes-love_24.html , and the neon hot pink is Catherine Arley #702 which I reviewed here: http://preslavasbeautydiary.blogspot.com/2015/06/notdneon-pink-flowers-catherine-arley_9.html . Its really important to use thin fine makeup sponge and not dish sponge. This way the ombre effect would turn out clear and well blended. Lightly dab the sponge until you like the intensity of the colors. I repeat this process twice. Actually I wanted the glitters to be just in the inner part of my nails but they went all over my nails :D But I really like how it turns out – it’s super colourful, eye catching and kind of crazy because every nail is different from the others.

I finished the manicure with nice thick layer of top coat. The top coat blended the harsh lines (if there’s any), gives super shine to the manicure and it makes it stay longer. Using soaked with nail polish remover Q-tip I cleared my cuticles from the nail polish and I defined the oval using an angled brush.

This manicure is so summery – it’s super colourful, eyecatching and non typical! If it wasn’t so messy to do I would definitely do it more often.

How do you like an ombre manicure?
